Like humans, flowers come in all shapes, colours and sizes.

Flowers are really special. They are natural artworks of beauty, they smell nice and most importantly they provide bees with nectar and pollen that is essential for the reproduction of plants through pollination. 

In this lesson we are going to create a Beautiful Bouquet of Flowers that could be the perfect gift for someone special.

Age recommendation: 

This project is recommended for kids ages 7 and up.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Flower options: cupcake liners, coffee filters or toilet paper rolls
  • Paper straw, stick or skewer
  • Colouring supplies: sharpies, colour pencils or pastel crayons
  • Paint supplies: watercolourspaint brush, water
  • Scissors
  • Tape

What super skills will your students learn?

Fine motor skills: Is using the smaller muscle groups in our hands and fingers to grip by performing finger oppositions and extending and flexing our fingers during an activity. This will be seen beautifully throughout the craft when creating finer details as these flowers will require a lot of fine motor coordination.
