Full Lesson Plan: Hobby Horse/Unicorn Craft

Posted on Feb 17, 2022

We've got a FREE craft project jam-packed with super skill development opportunities for kiddos ages 4 to 6 to share with you today!

But before we do...

Here’s a question for you:

Can you think of a fairytale that doesn't have a horse in it?

Think about it... Who pulled Cinderella's carriage? How did Prince Phillip get to the tower to save Sleeping Beauty? What did Anna ride when she went looking for Elsa in Frozen?

Horses play a super important and heavily underrated role in so many stories! Which makes them such a great tool for imaginative play.

Today we're sharing with you one of the Creative Crafting Club's greatest hits - the Hobby Horse/Unicorn full lesson plan.

This craft has been made by hundreds of kids around the world and has always resulted in the happiest faces and hours of after-class fun.

Get your students to come up with a name for their horse and a fairytale to go along with it.

Imagination and Creativity

This craft is all about imagination and creativity. Encourage kids to come up with their own ideas.

Fine-motor skills

Best practised when using the smaller muscles in our hands. The most important time to develop these muscles is between 2-6 years old when children learn to control movements that help them to do everyday tasks. In this lesson the focus on glueing, cutting, sticking, drawing, and painting will help develop these muscles.
