Sock Bunny Step-by-step Craft Lesson Plan Freebie!

Posted on Feb 15, 2023

"This little bunny goes 'hop hop hop'
While his big fluffy ears go 'flop flop flop'
Wiggle your ears & crinkle your nose
Then wiggle wiggle wiggle
Right down to your toes"

In today's lesson we'll show you step by step how to make your very own floppy-eared friend using a few simple crafting supplies.

This craft is great fun as kids will get to fill their own sock bunnies with stuffing, get their fingers messy with paint, dance and sing along to The Bunny Rhyme, and play a game of 'Cotton Ball Hunt'.

Age recommendation:

This project is recommended for kids ages 2 to 3 with adult assistance, so be sure to ask your students' caregivers to stay and help during class. This craft will be a great bonding experience for everyone involved.

What super skills will your students learn?

Tactile sensory: when we experience a sensory stimulus through touch and feeling from our hands and on our skin. This is one of our 5 senses, the development of which is pivotal to exploring and making sense of the world around us.

In this craft, the children are invited to experience the feeling of softness by playing with and manipulating stuffing. They will discover that the stuffing is soft but also a bit rough, big but able to be squished smaller in their hands, only to return to its original size when they let go. The children will be able to discover the variation in characteristics of the stuffing.
