How Much $ Can I Make With a Craft Club?
Posted on Jul 19, 2024Imagine earning an extra $1200 a month by teaching just two arts and crafts classes a week. Not bad, right?
“How much money can I make?” is a question we get a lot in our community. The key is in the numbers.
When you're charging $25 per child per class, and hosting multiple children per session, the income quickly adds up.
Our CCC Academy members have proven this model works, with many earning well above $1200 a month by teaching just a few classes per week.
Here’s how the numbers add up if you charge $25 per child per class and teach different numbers of children:These numbers aren’t just achievable—they’re proven. Our CCC Academy members, who are real-life club owners, charge an average of $25 per child per class. Some even charge $35 to $50 per class.
By keeping costs low with recycled materials and hosting classes at schools or at home for free, they maximize their profits.
Let’s explore some of the strategies you can use to achieve these results:
1. Be Smart With Your Supplies
The basic supplies needed for classes (paints, etc.) last a very long time, so you'll need to pay a small chunk of money upfront for those, but you can go MONTHS before needing to restock. For this reason, it's important that you choose high-quality, long lasting supplies. Click here to visit our Amazon Store to see which supplies we've tried and tested and recommend.
Using recycled materials for your crafting projects is the number 1 way you can save money in your kids crafting club. Not only is this environmentally friendly, but it also allows you to create a wide variety of projects without breaking the bank.
Collect materials like cardboard, paper rolls, fabric scraps, and old magazines. Encourage parents and community members to get involved with collecting items. Kids love running into class with big bags of recycled items that they’ve collected!
2. Select a Cost-Effective Venue
Hosting your classes in cost-effective or free venues can significantly reduce overhead costs. Many CCC Academy members host classes at local schools, community centers, or even in their homes.
Some members partner with local businesses or libraries, offering classes as part of community enrichment programs. These venues often welcome such initiatives and may even help with promoting your classes.
*Tip: We've seen CCC members achieve great success by teaching crafting at schools as an after-class activity. It's super convenient for the parents as they only need to pick up their kids a bit later from school, plus principals are often looking for extra activities to offer their students to keep them happy and engaged.
If the idea of teaching at schools appeals to you, we have an entire module inside our CCC Academy membership dedicated to teaching at schools - it outlines the steps for how to contact schools and what to say to the principal.
3. Maximize Your Class Size
Increasing the number of children per class directly boosts your income. While maintaining a manageable class size is important (especially when you're first starting out and still gaining confidence), CCC Academy members who have been in the biz for a while find that classes with 10-15 children are ideal. This allows for personal attention to each child while maximizing earnings.
Can you imagine your life if you could have fun, be flexible, and bring in these kinds of numbers to support your family?
Our CCC Academy members are living proof that this model works. Here are a few of their inspiring stories:
Nicola, mom of 4, used to work as a childminder, but didn't like the long hours and always felt stressed.
Nicola stumbled across CCC Academy at just the right time.
She dived right in, using the CCC roadmap to get her logo and business must-haves in place and planned her classes using the done-for-you CCC lesson plans. This saved her tons of time and accelerated her journey to success.
When Natalie launched her after-school program she had so many kids interested in her classes that she had to shut down her sales page and redirect her customers to a waitlist!
In the two years since Cara launched her club, her business has gained incredible momentum and grown into something bigger than she could have ever imagined.
She hired 7 employees to keep up with the demand and is planning to expand her offerings even further to give her employees more work!
